Destined to Doubt?

Posted in life or something like it. at 3:56 pm by AltF

People often wonder about the reason behind their subsistence, the difference between what’s wrong and what’s right and about what is meant to be, in other words destiny.

While a part of us believe in making our own destiny, the rest often find it very handy for shifting the blame. Some of us find ourselves helpless in front of our destinies. Misfortune and bad luck is seen as a part of our predestination. In other words, a belief, that we human beings are not responsible for our own actions. Thinking that our life is nothing but a pack of cards, with its Ace’s and Jokers.

Banking upon destiny is very simple, but when does it occur to you, that we are in a way treading away from the path of our conscious action?

Isn’t it very convenient to believe that an outer force, an unseen power is controlling us? Believing that no matter how much effort we put, things will not change, that our efforts are nothing but meaningless and insignificant. That we are mere puppets in the hands of say…God? Quite a coward conclusion isn’t it?

While believing in providence, it’s also necessary to believe in the competence of our own proceedings. There is nothing that we can’t achieve, as far as we believe in ourselves, belief comes with time and effort.

You have to do enough good, to get good in return, that’s the only way you’ll believe you deserve what you want.

Your article reminds me of the red pill or the blue pill scenario from the Matrix.

Yes as much as I want to believe I make my own future… I am in control of my destiny… somehow things happen despite my best efforts that it makes me think may be there is a greater force out there which influences the way my future is going to be. You might think its a cowardly conclusion but the way the events unfold at times just makes you wonder. There are situations when there is nothing you can do to make things different.

But anyway, back to your article. Nicely done.

    Cheers

i think u got it spot on. let me say this…even our very own God is a creation of our own need. our need of not to believe in ourselves but needing someone or something to believe in. which basically signifes an inherent weakness in homosapiens.
